Chairman | Stephen Galloway

Mr Galloway has extensive experience working in Namibia across mining, energy, investment and financial sectors.  He began his career as a geologist, working with various Namibian companies, after which he held a number of positions within the Namibian Government including Chief Mineral Economist, Under Secretary of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Executive Director of the Namibian Investment Centre.  He is a director of NedCapital Namibia (Pty) Ltd, a company that provides specialised project and corporate finance products and financial services to the Namibian market.

 

 

Non Executive Director | Alastair Clayton

 

Mr Clayton is a qualified geologist and mining executive with extensive experience in optimising and financing large scale mining projects. He is currently a Non-Executive Director of Templar Minerals Ltd, an AIM-listed mining and exploration group; previously, Mr Clayton was Chairman of Bannerman Resources - a uranium exploration company in Namibia and was extensively involved in the optimisation and construction of the Murrin Murrin project in Western Australia.

 

 

 

Non Executive Director | Ron Chamberlain

 

Mr Chamberlain is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia with 20 years experience in international finance with global listed companies, private companies and chartered accountant firms.  His previous role with Extract was as Acting Chief Financial Officer, where he was contracted as an independent consultant.  Between 2004 and 2008 Mr Chamberlain was Chief Financial Officer for Paladin Energy Limited which has the Langer Heinrich Mine in Namibia.  He also worked in a variety of financial roles for the mineral sands miner Iluka Resources Limited, between 1998 and 2004.

 

Non Executive Director | Neil MacLachlan

Mr McLachlan Holds a Science degree with Honours from Cambridge University and has over 27 years investment banking experience gained in Europe, South East Asia and Australia, including 16 years with the investment banking division of HSBC including positions as deputy chairman / CEO for Wardly Australia Ltd (now HSBC Bank Australia Ltd), and as head of investment banking at James Capel & Co Ltd. He also has extensive mining industry experience, including as Executive Vice President, Asia for Barrick Gold Corporation, with responsibility for identifying and negotiating new acquisitions in Asia.

 

Non Executive Director | John Main

Mr John Main is a geologist with 40 years of practical and management experience in the international mineral exploration and mining industry, across a wide range of commodities and mineralisation styles. He has been a senior exploration executive with a number of major mining companies, with extensive overseas experience. This includes four years based in Namibia on uranium and base metals projects. He has lead exploration teams in the discovery, definition and evaluation of a number of world-class mineral projects, including the Skorpion Zinc Project in Namibia, the Century Zinc-Lead Project in Queensland, and the Resolution Copper Project in Arizona.

 

Non Executive Director | Inge Zaamwani-Kamwi

Ms Zaamwani-Kamwi is a qualified mining lawyer having obtained her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Law in the UK. She is a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn, London. Inge is currently the Managing Director of Namdeb Diamond Corporation, a company jointly owned by the Government of Namibia and De Beers. Prior to this, she served as Mining Commissioner and the Director of Mines in the Namibian Ministry of Mines and Energy, and she is a board member of several of Namibia's premier companies, institutions and non-government organisations.

 

 

Senior Management

Managing Director | Jonathan Leslie

Mr Leslie is a highly experienced mining executive, with extensive operational and management knowledge of the global mining industry which includes experience in uranium marketing and project management.

He was on the Board of Rio Tinto PLC for 9 years and CEO of two of Rio Tinto's major product groups. He has broad experience of uranium marketing having spent four years responsible for Rio Tinto's worldwise uranium sales into the Far East and Asia. His involvement in uranium continued with his appointment as Managing Director of Rossing Uranium where he developed close relationships with with Namibian government and related agencies.

More recently Mr Leslie served as Executive Chairman for the major AIM listed mining company, Nikanor plc, formed to develop the world class KOV copper/cobalt project in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Prior to his role with Nikanor, Mr Leslie was CEO of Sappi Ltd, from 2003 to 2006.


Exploration | Martin Spivey

Mr Spivey graduated from Canterbury University with a Bachelor of Science and a Masters degree. He is a geologist with 23 years involvement in the resource industry in Australia and overseas and has been developing the Husab Project for over five years, together with other projects in Namibia. He is a corporate member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy   

 

Projects | Andrew Penkethman

Mr Penkethman has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wollongong majoring in geology and geography. He has extensive mining industry and exploration experience having worked in Australia, Fiji and southern Africa on projects that have ranged from grass roots exploration through to resource definition, open pit and underground mining. Mr Penkethman is also a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists

 

Company Secretary | Siobhan Lancaster

Ms Lancaster has a Masters in Law and Legal Practice from the University of Technology, Sydney, and a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics from the University of Sydney.  Siobhan commenced her career as a lawyer with Allens Arthur Robinson, working in Mergers and Acquisitions and prior to her role at Extract, Siobhan worked for an ASX listed uranium exploration company. She has also completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course

 

Finance | Peter Sydney-Smith

Mr Sydney-Smith has extensive experience in the mining and metals sector, emerging markets and Africa.  He was previously Finance Director of several mining companies including Mwana Africa plc, Nikanor plc and Vedanta Resources plc.   Mr Sydney-Smith was also Finance Director of BPB plc, the major international building materials group and of British Gypsum Ltd.

 

Mr Sydney-Smith is a chartered accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and was educated at Cambridge University receiving a Master of Arts degree in economics.

 

Business and Corporate Relations | Richard Henning

Mr Henning holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours from Queens University, Belfast. He worked as a geologist in oil & gas exploration in Australia, the UK North Sea and Canada and has worked extensively in the Australian venture capital industry, responsible for capital raising, evaluating investment proposals and the investment management of a range of technology companies. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors

 

Namibia | Sadike Nepela

Mr Nepela has studied policy & economics at the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg and sustainable development at the University of Connecticut, West Hartford, USA. For a number of years he has served as an assistant to the Minister in the Namibian Ministry of Mines & Energy and  has been General Manager for Westport Resources, a subsidiary of Forsys Metals Corp. He is also a Fellow of the Int'l Centre for Research & Training in Major Projects Management, Montreal, Canada
