Chairman | Bob Buchan

Mr Buchan was born in Aberdeen Scotland in 1947 and graduated as a Mining Engineer from Heriot Watt in 1969.  After 10 years as an analyst, Mr Buchan left to form an exploration finance company, which raised over US$1.2 billion for the industry in Canada.  Amongst his achievements, Mr Buchan was founder and CEO of  Gold Corporation of Canada (“Kinross”) currently one of the world’s largest global gold producers. Mr Buchan also holds a Masters in Mineral Economics from Queens University Ontario.

 

Managing Director | Peter McIntyre

Mr McIntyre holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Australia. He has been involved in the mining industry for 26 years which included 15 years with WMC Ltd in various senior management positions and has been involved with the development of major projects. Mr McIntyre was a founding director of Kalahari Minerals which is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is also a director of Metex Resources (ASX:MEE). He also completed an MBA program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston.

 

Non Executive Director | Neil MacLachlan

Mr McLachlan Holds a Science degree with Honours from Cambridge University and has over 27 years investment banking experience gained in Europe, South East Asia and Australia, including 16 years with the investment banking division of HSBC including positions as deputy chairman / CEO for Wardly Australia Ltd (now HSBC Bank Australia Ltd), and as head of investment banking at James Capel & Co Ltd. He also has extensive mining industry experience, including as Executive Vice President, Asia for Barrick Gold Corporation, with responsibility for identifying and negotiating new acquisitions in Asia.

 

Non Executive Director | Steve Sikirich

Mr Sikirich has over 41 years experience in the earthmoving, civil construction, equipment hire, and mining industries both in Australia and overseas. As a principal of FK Kanny & Sons, he oversaw the merger with MacMahon Contractors and remained a director of the merged group until 2005. Mr Sikirich is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

 

Non Executive Director | Peter Meagher

Mr Meagher has degrees in Economics and Commerce from the University of Western Australia. He has had extensive experience as a director for listed companies and has managed the corporate division of a stockbroking firm with responsibility for initial public offerings, new issues, capital raisings and corporate advisory work. He has also worked as Finance Director of a large listed group of companies that included mining and oil exploration companies. Mr Meagher is a Certified Practising Accountant.

 

Non Executive Director | Stephen Galloway

Mr Galloway has extensive experience working in Namibia across mining, energy, investment and financial sectors.  He began his career as a geologist, working with various Namibian companies, after which he held a number of positions within the Namibian Government including Chief Mineral Economist, Under Secretary of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Executive Director of the Namibian Investment Centre.  He is a director of AIM listed Kalahari Minerals plc and of NedCapital Namibia (Pty) Ltd, a company that provides specialised project and corporate finance products and financial services to the Namibian market.

 

Senior Management


Exploration | Martin Spivey

Mr Spivey graduated from Canterbury University with a Bachelor of Science and a Masters degree. He is a geologist with 23 years involvement in the resource industry in Australia and overseas and has been developing the Husab Project for over five years, together with other projects in Namibia. He is a corporate member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy   

 

Projects | Andrew Penkethman

Mr Penkethman has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wollongong majoring in geology and geography. He has extensive mining industry and exploration experience having worked in Australia, Fiji and southern Africa on projects that have ranged from grass roots exploration through to resource definition, open pit and underground mining. Mr Penkethman is also a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists

 

Finance | Rance Dorrington

Mr Dorrington is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Secretary (ACIS) with 23 years business experience. This includes 8 years within the mining and oil & gas industries in Australia, Asia and Africa for Multinational, ASX and AIM listed entities and 12 years experience in public accounting & auditing practise.

 

Business and Investor Relations | Richard Henning

Mr Henning holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours from Queens University, Belfast. He worked as a geologist in oil & gas exploration in Australia, the UK North Sea and Canada and has worked extensively in the Australian venture capital industry, responsible for capital raising, evaluating investment proposals and the investment management of a range of technology companies. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors

 

Namibia | Sadike Nepela

Mr Nepela has studied policy & economics at the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg and sustainable development at the University of Connecticut, West Hartford, USA. For a number of years he has served as an assistant to the Minister in the Namibian Ministry of Mines & Energy and  has been General Manager for Westport Resources, a subsidiary of Forsys Metals Corp. He is also a Fellow of the Int'l Centre for Research & Training in Major Projects Management, Montreal, Canada
