Chief Financial Officer

Mr Sydney-Smith has extensive experience in the mining and metals sector, emerging markets and Africa. He was previously Finance Director of several mining companies including Mwana Africa plc, Nikanor plc and Vedanta Resources plc. Mr Sydney-Smith was also Finance Director of BPB plc, the major international building materials group and of British Gypsum Ltd. Mr Sydney-Smith is a chartered accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and was educated at Cambridge University receiving a Master of Arts degree in economics.


  Norman Green

CEO / Swakop Uranium

Norman Green (Pr Eng, GCC (Elec), GCC (Mech)), has a BSc degree in Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has considerable experience in Southern Africa where he has successfully led projects and managed the process for the commissioning of a number of mines, including the Skorpion Zinc min and refinery project for Anglo American Base Metals in Namibia. He has also worked with Impala Platinum Limited, Assmang Limited and the Hillside Aluminium Project for Gencor, now part of BHP Billiton. Mr Green’s primary role is to build a Namibian team and with that team develop the Husab Uranium Project deposit from a world class discovery into a world class mine.


 Andrew Penkethman Andrew Penkethman

Projects

Mr Penkethman has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wollongong majoring in geology and geography. He has extensive international resource industry experience from green fields exploration through to project evaluation, open pit and underground production. Mr Penkethman is also a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists and a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. 


Siobhan Lancaster  Siobhan Lancaster

Company Secretary / Corporate Affairs

Ms Lancaster has a Masters in Law and Legal Practice from the University of Technology, Sydney, and a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics from the University of Sydney. She commenced her career as a lawyer with Allens Arthur Robinson, working in Mergers and Acquisitions and prior to her role at Extract, she worked for an ASX listed uranium exploration company. She has also completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course.


Jonathan Bevan  Jonathan Bevan

Corporate Development

Mr Bevan has a range of corporate development experience in the energy, power and mining sectors, with a particular focus on projects in Africa. He was responsible for corporate development at Nikanor plc and Katanga Mining Limited, and was more recently group financial controller of Mwana Africa plc. Previously he was a member of the corporate finance advisory team at Citigroup and subsequently Lexicon Partners. Mr Bevan holds an MSci from Trinity College, Cambridge and a Masters in Business Administration from INSEAD in France and Singapore.


Sashi Davies Sashi Davies

Head of Marketing

Mrs Davies has extensive experience in the uranium industry and has served in uranium procurement, marketing, brokerage, trading and consultancy roles. She was previously managing director of S D Energy Associates and has worked for Rio Tinto, Nufcor International, the Ux Exchange and Consulting companies and British Energy. While at Rio Tinto Mrs Davies was responsible for uranium sales from the Rössing mine into Europe and the Far East. Mrs Davies holds a BSc in Nuclear Engineering from Manchester University and a MBA from the University of Westminster.
