Extract continues to be proactive in promoting safe working environments by anticipating, recognising, evaluating and controlling unhealthy and unsafe situations that could result in accidents or disruption of work. The Company’s priority is to ensure that everyone is made aware of hazards attached to all work performed, understands the precautionary measures required with respect to hazards and is provided with the necessary information, education, training and supervision to maintain a healthy and safe workplace.
Extract takes the concept of uranium stewardship seriously and operates responsibly on the basis that all injuries and environmental breaches are avoidable. This principle features in every aspect of the Company’s business starting with best practice occupational health and safety procedures. On site targets are set so that they either meet or exceed all regulatory guidelines and either meet or exceed the Equator Principles and International Finance Corporation standards.
The Company has a Radiation Management Plan in place to ensure that radiation is managed and monitored in an effective manner. This plan has been submitted to the National Radiation Protection Authority and is regularly audited to ensure compliance. To date there have been no cases on non-compliance found by the authority.
